DevDay AsiaPac and DevCon 2008

The BbWorld AsiaPac Users Conference is approaching fast, and we will again hold our annual Blackboard Developers Day on Monday, September 8. We invite all Blackboard developers to attend and enjoy a day of in-depth technical sessions on ways to better integrate with and extend the Blackboard teaching and learning platform. Don't miss this opportunity to collaborate with your peers, share technical solutions, and learn about the new developer capabilities planned for our Project NG releases.

Our 2008 Developers Conference was the largest ever. With many exciting developer capabilities coming to our learning platform over the next year, Blackboard developers have much to be excited about. To view archives of presentations delivered at DevCon this year and Dr. Michael Wesch's keynote, see the EduGarage Archives. Next year's conference will be held in National Harbor, Maryland just south of Washington, DC.

Blackboard Sync - Blackboard's newest Building Block contribution

Blackboard is happy to announce the release of our newest Building Block contribution: Blackboard Sync. Blackboard Sync is a safe and secure application that delivers Blackboard course information and updates through the Facebook interface to keep students in touch and engaged with their academic studies. It also enables students to connect with their classmates through Facebook, thus creating social learning opportunities. The Blackboard Sync Building Block enables clients to allow their students to use Blackboard Sync within Facebook, while managing authentication and content syncing within their own system.

Got an idea, code or content to contribute?

EduGarage is the home of the Blackboard Developer Community, an innovative group of technical experts with a passion for using technology to enhance teaching and learning. There are many ways to share and participate!  Check out the discussion forums, recommend a project, share some code, and let the community know how we can do even more to help each other customize and extend our Blackboard learning management solutions.  Please take a look around this site and e-mail your feedback to edugarage@blackboard.com.
