Preliminary survey feedback:
- The survey will close on January 31st. Please consider taking this survey
to provide us with feedback
- The program is headed in a good direction
- Desire more sample code and fully-populated tutorials. The community is encouraged to assist in content population. How can Blackboard better recognize the efforts of its developers?
- Desire more opportunities/more structure to collaborate with each other on projects
Areas for improvement:
- API support can be improved, especially with regards to changes in use/best practices in newer versions
- Documenting which libraries ship with which versions of the product is recommended
- More tangible examples of what can be done with Building Blocks/PowerLinks as opposed to only showing code or talking conceptually about functionality
Brainstorming:
- Can Blackboard provide virtual images for download or a physical server that can be scheduled for testing Building Blocks and PowerLinks on different versions of the software?
- Can Blackboard invite more developers to participate in the next Beta program? (e-mail ClientPrograms@blackboard.com for more information)
- Should Blackboard hold a Developer Day at BbWorld Europe in May? Can we support further training efforts in Europe?
Time and format for the next BbDN Office Hours:
- Guest speaker/demonstrator to show and talk about a recent or current project (e-mail edugarage@blackboard.com is you are interested)
- Have a topic/focus for each meeting
- Vary times so that we can better accommodate a global audience
- Get the word out
- The next office hours is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20th at 11 am Eastern time. Click here
