Description

The My Organizations Plus module provides access to organization sites as well as the added ability for leaders to manage organization enrollments. Users with the role of "leader" in an organization will be able to add users, batch add users, remove users, and batch remove users.

NOTE: This gets around the issue of not having the ability for Organization Leaders to edit enrollments because the course enrollment feature has been turned off for instructors.

Compatibility

This system extension requires Blackboard Community System because it is a portal module.

It works with all versions of Learning System with Community System 6.3 and above.

Installation

Install this system extension as a Building Block in the Administrator Control Panel. This system extension installs a portal module that is not available by default. This can be changed through the "Properties" button in the Manage Modules area of Community System.

Version History

The latest version is 1.3.1 and is available from the Building Blocks catalog from http://buildingblocks.blackboard.com.

Notes

This system extension can be used to replace the existing My Organization module as the enrollment option will only be available to organization leaders.

Documentation for leaders is contained within the Edit Users feature.

Depending on the version of Blackboard Learning System you are using, you cannot search for users if you are not the system administrator. You can simply add users by entering multiple user names separated by commas. It is smart enough to determine when the "Search Users" feature works so it will only be displayed to those version and users that can use it.

Support

Seneca College cannot officially support this Building Block but every effort is made to ensure it works with newer versions of Blackboard Learning System because we use this building block on our production system. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Santo.Nucifora@senecac.on.ca

I will try to keep this page current as new versions of Blackboard Learning System come up but there may be a time when the underlying architecture changes and this Building Block will no longer work. That is beyond our control. If this should happen, this page will reflect the end-of-life.
