Blackboard's Project NG

Many of you have attended our events over the past several months to learn more about Blackboard's Project NG. We've now begun to blog about the new and exciting capabilities in our upcoming releases. Blackboard developers have much to be excited about.

Thanks to all who attended the 2008 Blackboard Developers Conference and Developer Days in Manchester, UK and Adelaide, Australia. Visit the EduGarage Archives for presentations, recordings, and sample code. DevCon 2009 will be held in National Harbor, Maryland just south of Washington, DC.

Get the most out of your investment in Blackboard technologies

Launched as a technology in 2001, Blackboard Building Blocks provide an easy, flexible, and maintainable way to build tools and plugins for the Blackboard Learn platform. Whether building one yourself, downloading a free or open source tool, or purchasing a commercial solution from our growing partner community, you can use Building Blocks to:

  • Extend the platform with additional or enhanced functionality
  • Meet discipline-specific or pedagogical needs through customization
  • Integrate with other campus systems or applications
  • Aid system administration through automation

Got an idea, code or content to contribute?

EduGarage is the home of the Blackboard Developer Community, an innovative group of over 2000 technical experts with a passion for using technology to enhance teaching and learning. There are many ways to share and participate! Check out what the Blackboard Innovators Award winners have been up to, drop by the discussion forums, recommend a project, share some code, and let the community know how we can do even more to help each other customize our Blackboard learning management solutions and learn from the experience.
