Blackboard is supporting a reinvigorated Blackboard Users’ Group (BUG) directly focused on the effective use of the SIS Integration Framework.  “Chaired” by Kevin Lowey from University of Saskatchewan, this group met at Blackboard World 2012 to both expand and redirect its mission.  Generally, the objectives of the BUG are:

    • Collect documents related to the SIS integration, both those provided in various places by Blackboard and those created by our SIG members.
    • Start and maintain a suggestion list of improvements to SIS integration we can take to Blackboard, SIS vendors, and even open source developers to help improve their products.
    • Start and maintain a tool repository with links to things like the LDI to Learn Bridge in Oscelot done by University of New Mexico, or scripts others have used to customize their SIS integrations.

Kevin posted slides from the Bb World session here:  http://www.slideshare.net/BlackboardInc/bb-world-2012-blackboardsungard-sig-annual-meeting

The BUG is supported by a mailing list and a group area on Blackboard’s Connections site:

    • For the group area, visit http://connections.coursesites.com then select the "Get Started Here" link. You can either browse as a guest, request an enrollment if you don't have an account yet, or log in if you do have an account.  The shared area is a group called “Blackboard - SIS BUG” within the course “Bb Connections User Group Community.”
